Play Area Slated for Upgrades

Ham's Memorial Play Area on Bowman Street has stood the test of time for close to 65 years; it was dedicated in 1957! According to a longtime resident in the neighborhood, the park had undergone upgrades close to 30 years ago. Mayor Lee Dragna surveyed and assessed a proposed upgrade to the park saying, "it's got good bones but it needs TLC."

On Thursday, Dragna is meeting with two area council members to compile cost estimates of materials and equipment. Although, there isn't a timeline or approximate date of construction, the mayor says the project could call for a number of months the play area and basketball court would be closed to the public.
